I’ve just been browsing through a pile of photographs taken at the 2010 Reunion here in Rotorua with a mixture of both pleasure and a little sadness.

Pleasure because it was such a neat gathering. Sure we have gotten a little older but the young soldier is still there, albeit a little faded. But a little sadness too, because quite a few of our number have since marched on to their final parade.

So here we go again! March 2012 is just a year away! The same Crew! Brig Thorpe, our Patron: Mrs Brig (Lady Pat), our Ladies Rep; Teach, Kei, Henare and me, the Crew. We are also proud to have the valued service of Rolly Rolston, Rotorua RSA, Secretary/Manager, as our Secretary.

Is there anything different this time? Well we think so! Firstly, Reunion 2012 has been extended by a day and secondly, the Reunion is being conducted during the week from Monday 12^th to Thursday 15^th March 2011, a total of 3 nights as opposed to the usual 2! This allows us to spend more time together and also takes the pressure off the weekend travel and hotel bookings.

As per a number of requests from 2010, we have organised some additional, optional activities such as the Gondola Lunch (we are currently sourcing funding for this) the Agrodome and Museum - a visit to the 28 (Maori) Battalion display is highly recommended. Finally, the Mayoral Reception; something different but we think quite appropriate. And don’t miss the Papa Ruru Concert!
